El Accidente, the thrilling new drama from Globomedia, premiered to a huge audience on Mediaset’s Telecinco in Spain on Tuesday. The series' first episode was watched by over 3,2 million viewers, achieving a market share of 20,3% to top the prime time charts.
These numbers represent the best start for a new fiction launch on any of Mediaset Espana’s platforms in over 2 years. The series will consist of a total of 13 x 70 minute episodes in Spain, with an alternative 17 x 45 minute version available for the international market.
“We have been eagerly awaiting the launch of this amazing project. The buzz around the industry has been palpable, with everyone looking forward to the latest quality production from Globomedia. Now with such strong audience figures in Spain that anticipation has clearly been justified, and we are so proud to have this huge success as part of our catalogue,” says Laura Minarro, Director of Co-production and Scripted at Eccho Rights.
